Milestone Achieved: Wazo Challenge Tanzania 🇹🇿

This past Friday we wrapped up the Wazo Challenge Tanzania - Future of Banking Edition and what an inspiring journey it has been. Thanks to Absa Bank Tanzania for the partnership and “walking the talk” by being a bank who is driving fintech thought leadership in Tanzania.

With 94 startups / innovators applying, our eventual cohort of 10 startups went through a 4-Weeks Venture Development Bootcamp and received mentorship from the leadership at Absa Bank across different Business Units, in addition to our mentors and experts Munya Chiura Miranda Perumal Vinayak Hegde Victor Joseph Christine Namara

The Wazo Challenge Tanzania - Class of 2025 showcased their innovations at the Demo day, and while every one of them is winner, the jury ranked Ghala, Black Swan, and GrupBuy as the “Top-3”. Hongera Sana Derick Kazimoto Tonny Missokia kalebu Gwalugano 🎉👏🏽🚀

These trailblazing FinTechs wowed the judges with cutting-edge ideas in customer experience, digital identity, and digital-first banking. They will now receive financial rewards, ongoing support, and the chance to bring their solutions to life with Absa Bank Tanzania.
